Need some ideas about what rank images we should use???
Hi everyone, as most of you know under your usernames is a rank title based on the Feudal Japanese hierarchy system that represents the number of posts you have done. I’m looking for ideas of images to represent the ranks and would like to hear your input, this will be a small image below the rank. So far I’ve thought of maybe a coloured belt black being the highest, or samurai weapons going from the more basic to those used by the most skilled samurai, or pictures of the actual rank titles e.g. farmer, samurai, daimyo etc. However the images will need to be quite simple as they will be small. Any other ideas? When we have a few ideas I shall put it to a vote in a poll and the winning idea shall be used for the rank images. Any suggestions :idea:

something simple like the coloured belts would be a good idea, but i've seen that used in other forums before and it's not very original. I think the weapon idea is good, could start of with a banana to a samuri sword etc. :D

Yeah that's what I’m thinking. Banana lol I’ll make a special rank just for you for the banana everyone else can have actual weapons :lol: I also thought of using samurai Kamon or crest symbols which would be simple but don't think it would show a noticeable increase in rank status unless someone is really into their samurai history. May just use a small gif image of each of the ranks i.e. pic of ronin, samurai, shogun etc think the weapons is my favourite at the moment though. Anyone else have any other ideas?

Colored belts would look cool. But the starting ones should be white belts. What say?

yeah defo white start, black at the other end of the scale maybe with white tags at end for the dans, only thing with using the belt system is a couple of other martial arts forums already use it and i want something totally unique to this forum really.

How about colored fists? Colors according to belt rankings? Or chops? Or kicks?

Thats an idea, using the same belt colour scheme but on a different image, thanks. I'll stick a poll up now with a few options on.
