Keri-Waza In Aikido
Why do you think there are no techniques against kicks in 'traditional' aikido? Not practical, because it was developed from sword techniques? Do you practise defense techniques against kicks in your aikido, do you think there is any point in doing so?

We practice defence against kicks, but traditionally it wasnt practical, as you say Aikido comes from the sword arts and when you are in full armour and waving a katana about things become extra difficult. Also i believe aiki jutsu and the use of the katana were only taught to the upper classes and it wasnt gentlemanly to kick, rules of engagement and all that.
