how often do you train impact training?
Do you believe it is necessary/essential, do you do it, if so how often and what do you use? thankyou

Please can you specify what you mean by impact training? Weights, running, full contact, bag/pad work... best regards T

Sorry yes i was reffering to pad training and bag training mainly, (basically hitting something rather than thin air)

I think for any serious martial artist impact training now and again is a must, especially for those interested in better self defence. You need to get a feel for striking, i still say a good old makiwara is best but thats a contraversial topic (maybe could be explored in a new thread). However pad/bag work is a must for getting a feel of the recoil on impact of a strike etc i personally do most bag work at home, but we do use pads at our club probably once every 2/3 weeks. Without actually hitting something you will never learn how to make proper use of follow through, power, contraction and kime etc etc
