Unfortunately I have very little experience in JKD in fact I believe it is probably the only martial art that I have been interested in yet never trained in, I attended a few seminars in which there was JKD instructors and did a little bit of work with them but other than that never really trained in it, mainly due to lack of schools in my area i hope to make the effort to travel and train in it in the near future.
As for techniques I’m not experienced to be able to pick one but I do like many of the JKD principles, I like the close fast direct techniques/strikes in straight lines and like the idea of the trapping and clearing/controlling of hands to open the opponent up for rapid striking. What is a rolling backfist? Is this the same as a spinning backfist?

3 years JKD training, i like the stop hits/destruction in practice but still find them hard to master, for a self defence situation i like the simple eye jab its always effective and/or sets up other techniques :D

the difference between a spinning backfist and a rolling backfist is:-
spinning- This uses the whole body all power is needed you can do yhis move spining the whole body around and connect or jus use the whole arm.
rolling- normally used as a distruction. imagine you palm is on somones face. without using the arm and drawing back jus roll the wrist and connect on the part of the body your palm was touching with the back of your fist. the distruction is harder to explain kbut i hope this helps...

Never came across the term 'rolling' before, ah ok i think i uderstand, so it could be performed say from your lead hand from a position where it could already be applying pressure to the opponents body/limbs then rather than a withdrawal for power you then just use the forward pressure for the momentum so the technique is faster and not as telegraphed?
I will have to have a try at drilling this technique from different positions
