Editing Avatar And Personal Settings
To add a personal avatar picture at the side of all your posts you need to go into the Profile section by clicking the Profile link towards the top of the page. In the profile section you can also customise a number of other settings. In the profile section go to the upload avatar option and click browse, look for the file of your desired picture and upload it and then click submit. If that hasn't worked your picture is probably to big or the file is to large, if this is the case you will have to edit your picture in a picture editing programme e.g. Adobe Photoshop or Paint and reduce the size of your picture to 160 x 160 pixels or less. Then try to upload it again once it has been resized. If this still doesn't work try reducing the quality, click save as and then click save for web and this will reduce the size of the file considerably there is also options here to further reduce it. Alternatively you can upload an avatar with a file size larger than 6kb to a free image host and copy and paste the direct link code ot gives you in to the avatar option in your profile called 'link to off site avatar. Feel free to ask for more help if need be.

Isn't 6KB very less? You can make it 10kb. Just a suggestion.

Yep I agree but unfortunately I am not able to adjust it, wish I was. You can get round it by using the save for web option when you save your avatar, or upload the picture to a free image hosting site and use the url from their to upload your avatar then I believe you can have it larger than 6kb. Your right though it is a bit of a pain.

Well, that's strange coz i can upto 16.77KB in my forum

Yeah I have increased the allowed size in the f settings but still think it only lets you upload 6kb or under for some reason, can you upload larger files than 6kb on yours? You'l have to have a try and let me know if you can and I'll have another play with the settings. Cheers

Nope. Says this: Unable to upload file DEBUG MODE Line : 250 File : usercp_avatar.php Try reducing the pixels to 80x80 & then changing the KB size to 35000 Bytes. See if the problem gets solved.

Have put in the measurments you have described and saved, will have to see if it works now. Also to link to the avatar via a image host site seems to only work if you click the 'link to off site avatar' option not the 'url' one. Let us know how it goes Cheers

It's done with the "link to off site" but not with the others. check your profile, in it, check the avatar rules.
