Hi Shuto I’ve never trained in kenpo and don't know too much about Ed Parker other than he helped introduce Bruce Lee and was bodyguard and instructor of Elvis Presley, please could you explain a little about him and his style, I believe it was Ed Parkers American Kenpo so take it he founded that style, but what helped form his style and what was significant about it etc?
thanks in advance

EPAK Originally from Hawaii, Ed Parker trained in the art of Kara Ho Kempo under William Chow. After moving over to mainland America, Parker set about updating his system. Over the following years, training with many great masters of various styles, including Eskrima, he began to formulate his modern kenpo karate.
The result was a devastatingly fast multiple strike system, capable of repelling any attacker or even attackers quickly and efficiently. Kenpo Karate, is a fast, effective and practical style of self defence.
designed to deal with street scenarios. You will learn where and how to strike the bodies weak points, with speed and power, to gain maximum advantage with minimum effort.

Interesting sounds like its more of a practical self defence art than I had first imagined it to be, I will have a further look into it
thanks

EPAK Yes,as well as Karate basics, and Forms (katas) the Kenpo systems
contain hundreds of prearranged attacks and self defence moves.
Clubs vary in the number they do but probably average 10 or more
required for each belt level, obviously becoming more involved as you progress through the levels.
Also very strong in two man sets, linear drills and weaponry.
