Bruce Lee and his influence on Bodybuilding!
Hey, I found a wicked article about Bruce Lee and the effect he had on Bodybuilding. I was shocked by the impact he had on it, as well.. he wasn't even a bodybuilder!! The guy was amazing, check out some of his routines.. http://www.mikementzer.com/blee.html Thanks

Great article, he definitely had one of the most famous muscularly 'defined' bodies of his time, and obviously had immense strength, think his physique was such a motivation to so many people as he wasn't a huge guy he was only your average 5'7 guy yet had such a defined muscular frame and strength, and like you said wasn't a bodybuilder as such but was dedicated to strength training to primarily increase his martial arts skills, 'functional strength.' I particularly like the following extracts Lee was only interested in strength that could readily be converted to power Lee devised a three-day-per-week bodybuilding program that he felt fit his strengthening and bodybuilding needs perfectly Lee coordinated his bodybuilding workouts in such a way so as to insure that they fell on days when he wasn't engaged in either endurance-enhancing or overly strenuous martial art training. The program worked like magic; increasing Lee's bodyweight from an initial 130 pounds to -- at one point -- topping out at just over 165 pounds! what amazes me after having looked through all of his materials is just how thorough his knowledge of training actually was. Lee collected over 140 books on bodybuilding, weight training, physiology and kinesiology during his lifetime, in addition to well over 2,000 books on philosophy and the martial arts. Lee believed that you could never know "too much" about a subject that could benefit your health and he lived his entire life trying to acquire as much knowledge about health and fitness as he could. Just one controversial question that may alarm some devoted Lee fans, not to divert the thread too much, but… do you think he made use of steroids? Even if he did his physique and strength is still amazing, but I still like to believe that his physique and strength was naturally down to his shear dedication to training. What do you think? Good post, is surprising to see even some of the ‘biggest’ names in bodybuilding were also inspired by Bruce’s training.
