Best training supplements What do you think are the best training supplements to get. I have bought numerous weight gain powders but they never seem to work and make me blouty. Does anyone know any good weight gain powder around that have sufficient protein in them and calories, also what other supps are worth buying and actually help with strength training results?

Different people and different diets can require different supplementation so there's no one magic list that’s best for everybody, also too much of one thing even vitamins can be toxic and start to cause harm. IMO a good balanced diet slightly adjusted to your training needs is all you need most supps are a waste of money, the most important and anabolic supp of all is FOOD. Most of the 'claims' and 'evidence' about legal supps is rubbish, however there are a few legal supps that may help with your strength training especially if you are not getting them in your typical diet. Here’s a brief list of some of the more helpful supps that do have actual benefit when used properly, however it won't be for everybody and if you are already getting sufficient amounts in your diet there is no need for them.
Legal strength training supps
1) Multivitamin & Minerals - needed for the healthy running of your body adequate vit & min levels are needed to help proteins cause chemical reactions including body building & growth and to maintain good cell functioning. However if you are having a protein shake daily these usually provide added vit & mins so you will prob not need extra supplementation, check the nutrition label on it.
2) Whey Proteins, helps with muscle growth. There are loads of different kinds of protein types and even more supplement brands, Prolab's is a popular brand but you will have to do your research. You can get enough protein from food alone but strenuous strength training does increase the amounts required, these kinds of protein powder shakes make it a little easier to consume increased protein levels.
3) Creatine Monohydrate, which I've discussed here:
http://www.thebudoboard.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=192 again Prolabs & EAS are popular brands, creatine is available in various formula's, I would recommend getting a pure form of creatine, it's als available in different forms such as powder, tablets & liquid IMO tablets are the most convenient however some people say tablet absorption isn't as good as the other forms. Studies show more is not always better with creatine, don't listen to the instructions on the pack saying use a loading phase this is probably just so they can sell more. I would recommend 5g a day and 10g a day on workout days, ideally take before and after workout.
4) Ammino Acids & BCAA's , especially L-Glutamine ammino acids have been shown to have many beneficial qualities especially if doing lots of strength training. They are anti-catabolic and can enhance muscle cell volume.
5) Argine Allows more nutrients to get to the muscles by increased blood flow which increases protein synthesis.
6) Flax Seed Oil Contains good fats, essential fatty acids omega 3, fibre, ligans, vit & mins, flax seed oil can have many benefits when strength training with enhanced nutrient utilization and may help with recovery.
I think they are the main 6 safe yet effective supps for strength training, there are also legal -*test*-('")osterone boosters you can get but IMO they are a waste of time unless you use them on and off for the rest of your life which is more than likely not safe not to mention a waste of money. If you stick with the above 6 (the ones lacking in your diet) you should notice enhancements while not spending too much money, however the most important thing is to have a good diet with enough calories and lift heavy weights in the correct way as well as leaving adequate recovery time. :weight:
